OMS — Office Management System

Loan modules, financial calculations, and a validated move off legacy data.

An office management system at Celloscope Ltd.: loan modules and financial calculation logic, reporting, and legacy data migration with Python.

PythonSQLData migration

Problem

The system needed reliable loan modules and calculations, and existing financial records had to move over from a legacy system without losing accuracy.

Solution

Designed the loan modules and the financial calculation logic, built the reporting, and wrote Python scripts that validated and migrated thousands of financial records from the legacy system.

System architecture

  1. Loan modules with the financial calculation logic in the backend.
  2. Reporting built on the same data as day-to-day operations.
  3. Python migration scripts that read legacy records, validate them, and load them into the new system.

Backend logic

  • Every migrated record is validated before it is written, so bad data is caught up front.
  • Loan calculations live in one place, so modules and reports agree.

Tech stack

  • Reports and loan modules share the same numbers.
  • Proprietary system — details available in interviews.

Result: Loan operations and reporting on the new system, with legacy records migrated and validated.
