BizTrac ERP

Inventory and business operations on web and mobile.

An ERP and inventory management platform with a mature Flutter mobile app (barcode/QR scanning, charts, PDF generation) and a web app being migrated from Express.js to Next.js.

FlutterNext.jsTypeScriptTailwind

Problem

Teams needed to manage inventory and operations from their phones as well as the office, and the original web app was built on an older Express.js stack.

Solution

Built a Flutter mobile app with barcode/QR scanning, charts, and PDF generation, and started migrating the web platform from the legacy Express.js app to Next.js, keeping the old apps in the repository as a reference during the move. Rolled out the new BizTrac "Ascent" brand across web and mobile.

System architecture

  1. Flutter mobile app for day-to-day inventory work: scanning, charts, and PDF documents.
  2. Web platform moving from a legacy Express.js API and web app to Next.js.
  3. Legacy apps kept alongside the new code as a reference during the migration.
  4. Shared brand system (colors, typography, logo, icons) across web and mobile.

Backend logic

  • Incremental migration: screens and endpoints are rebuilt on Next.js while the legacy app remains the reference.
  • The mobile app generates PDF documents on device and reads barcodes and QR codes with the camera.
  • Brand tokens (colors, Manrope typography) applied through the Tailwind config on web and theme tokens in Flutter.
